Hello friends and neighbors! My name is Jeff Ritz, and my family and I have proudly called Huron County home for the past 26 years. I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve the community I care deeply about as a Huron County Commissioner Candidate.

 

My focus as County Commissioner is simple: fiscal responsibility, economic growth, and safe, thriving communities.

A question I’ve been asked recently is what’s different about my candidacy. Simply put, I’m not a career politician — I’m an educator. My years as a superintendent have taught me that relationships matter, transparency builds trust, and progress happens when people work together.

 

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of leading a workforce of 167 employees, managing a $16 million budget, and serving on a number of committees—many in leadership roles. Those experiences have given me a deep understanding of responsible budgeting, collaboration, and the importance of carefully managing taxpayer dollars.

 

Huron County deserves steady, transparent leadership that protects taxpayers while planning for the future, and I’m committed to working with others across our communities to keep our county moving forward.

 

Our local primary election will be held on May 5, giving residents an important opportunity to participate and help shape the future of our county.
